In view of the current scenario of the second wave of the SARS-COV-2 pandemic in Brazil, and especially in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, where the occupation of hospital beds available for severe cases of the disease has remained above 90% of occupation, the State Government together with the Municipality of Natal published decree nº 30.419/21, released on March 17, 2021, effective from March 20, 2021 until April 2, 2021.

On December 30, 2020, the Federal Government released Ordinance 430/2020 with the 2021 calendar and its national holidays, which included February 15 and 16 as an optional point and February 17 until 2 pm, due to the cultural celebration of Carnival.
