He has got a solid academic activity which includes a tax post-graduation, a master and a PhD in Public Law and several researches in Germany and England. Elali is a former President of the Tax Comission at the Bar Association in the State of RN, former Member of the Board of the German-Brazilian Legal Society and currently is a member of the IBDT and APET.

Since 2008, Elali is a Professor of Tax Law at UFRN Law School and currently holds the status of Associate Professor.
